Four golds for Lincoln Vulcans

Lincoln Vulcans struck gold on four occasions at the Deepings SC Open meet on Sunday.

Harrison Judd, Imogen Thynne, Daniel Evans and James Fountain all secured first place in their respective events.

Harrison and Imogen, the latter also sealing bronze in the 200m backstroke, both won gold medals in the 200m breaststroke while Daniel and James collected gold in the boys' 200m butterfly.

In 200m freestyle, Ellena Green, Liam Apps and Daniel Evans all took silver in varying age groups, while the same boys also won silver medals in the backstroke competition along with Anna Chappell and Sophie Roberts.

Lucie Nicholls collected bronze in the 10 years age group and silver in the 200m breaststroke.

Samuel Jenkins collected bronze a similar medal in the 200m backstroke, 10 years boys section.

Molly Jones picked up a silver medal in the 200m breaststroke while Chloe Souter took bronze.

In the 200m girls' butterfly, Katrina White took silver and Jade Apps collected bronze in her age group.

In the 200m Individual Medley, Elissa Gratton, Lucie Nicholls and Chloe Souter collected bronze medals while team-mates Imogen Thynne and Liam Apps took silver positions.

Overall, Lincoln Vulcans finished the day as second-highest scoring visiting club.

"It is pleasing to see the strength in depth that Lincoln Vulcans are building across the age groups, with many talented young swimmers achieving personal bests and winning medals," said Vulcans head coach Fred Furniss.
