Ryan Semple signs for Boston United

Friday, March 05, 2010, 10:00

Boston United have clinched the signing of Ryan Semple from county rivals Gainsborough Trinity.

The former Lincoln City and Peterborough United winger trained with his new team-mates for the first time last night and is set to go into the Pilgrims squad for tomorrow's trip to Durham City.

The 24-year-old will provide added competition in midfield.

He can also operate up front.

Semple joined Trinity last summer following a successful spell with United Counties League outfit Deeping Rangers.

However, he struggled to hold down regular first-team football at the Northolme.

Semple made his final appearance for Trinity as a half-time substitute in their 3-2 defeat at Stalybridge Celtic last weekend.
