Knights and Fulbeck to meet in the final of Village Trophy
As expected, Knights romped to an easy 9-0 victory over Blacksmiths while Fulbeck United had to work a little harder for a 3-1 victory over Waddington United.
Knights' goalscorers were Danny Kent (4), Paul Nicholson (4) and Luke Atkinson.
In the second game, the Fulbeck goals came from James Barnett, Danny Geraghty and Ben Pollard.
In league action, there was a clash between second-placed FC Rustons Utd and Ivy Tavern, two places lower.
Tavern desperately needed a win to stay in the title chase but Rustons won 3-1. Rustons' third goal was their 100th in all competition this season.
For Ivy Tavern it was their first league defeat since October.
The League's leading scorer, Alex Knibbs, netted twice with Will Conlon getting the other and Billy Munro scoring for the Ivy.
The second game was from the other end of the table with eighth-placed Market Rasen Town avenging an early-season defeat as they defeated ninth-placed Pride FC, 6-0.
On target for Rasen were Ian Williams, Matt Rutherford, Jason Hall, Ian Dawson and Joe Osbourne.
The league would again like to invite any new side wishing to join to contact them.
There has also been the question asked as to whether an Under 18 Saturday League could be formed.
Any club with such interest should make contact with the league.
Cherry Knights' Danny Kent.
