Chris Moyses brings in former Lincoln City goalkeeper Ayden Duffy

Tuesday, February 09, 2010, 06:30

Chris Moyses has wasted little time making his mark as the new boss of Lincoln Moorlands Railway by bringing in half-a-dozen new players – and there may be more to come.

The former Lincoln United assistant manager was only unveiled by the struggling Newark Road-based club on Thursday, replacing the sacked Darren Dye.

But he has moved swiftly to bolster his squad ahead of tonight's daunting trip to table-topping Rainworth Miners Welfare, in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division (7.45pm).

The most eye-catching arrival is former Lincoln City reserve goalkeeper Ayden Duffy, who has signed permanently from Grantham Town.

Two more Gingerbreads, midfielders Danny Brooks and Danny Hargreaves, have joined on loan.

Dave Frecklington has moved permanently to become part of the coaching staff, while still registered as a player.

Finally, winger Josh Schofield and striker Scott Lowman have arrived from Lincoln United, as Moorlands aim to rise above their current position of second-bottom – the final relegation place.

"We are trying to do all we can to put Lincoln Moorlands Railway on the map," said Moyses.

"We were very happy with the squad we inherited. I wouldn't say we had to strengthen the squad, but we did have to add to it. We didn't have strength in depth.

"In Ayden's case, he wasn't actually in the Grantham team and so they released him from his contract and he's signed for us until the end of the season."
