Breaking news: Steve Plater wins British Supersport Championship

Steve Plater has been crowned the 2009 British Supersport Championship after winning an epic final round at Oulton Park.

The Woodhall Spa ace, riding for Louth's HM Plant Honda squad, fended off arch title rival Billy McConnell and James Westmoreland, who came second, to win from pole.

Meanwhile, Lincoln privateer Sam Lowes finished 10th overall - first in class - to secure the British Supersport Cup.
