can not believe they haven't retained mazza just for one more season so he could get his testimonial!!!!!! he's been such a remarkable player for the imps throughout his time here and is obviously red and white.

and whats with giving Duffy a new contract, he didnt look anything in the morecombe game!!!!!

we're going to miss him

Oh the irony, I seem to recall a certain Alan Marriott was not too impressive in his first few games either.
Mazza has probably been sacrificed as much to save money as anything else, Duffy wiill be a cheap back-up option to whoever is brought in, and I guess PJ will get at least one and a half players for the cash freed up by Mazza's wages. The trick will be getting one and a half quality players. We all know there are still too may half players left at the club as it is.

Shall we not just go mental and splash the cash on Huckerby's wages as he's just been released by Glen Roeder at Norwich?

Now for a more serious comment....

Stallard and Moses were injured too much this season and can we really risk paying their wages for another season?

Croft, well he wasn't exactly good was he!

And Marriot needs some serious competition in goal to keep him on his toes. Unfortunately, his (rumoured) high wages mean that the best we can provide in the way of competition for him is youngsters and cheap loans. Shot himself in the foot if you ask me but done us proud for 9 years all the same.

Looking forward to finding who Jacko has lined up. I'm much more optimistic of some decent players at the Bank under Jackson than some of the tripe that was signed under Schofield.

Must have been difficult decisions to make, especially for Mazza who has been a tremendous servant for the Imps, but as I have said before, he doesn't command his area as well as other keepers, which you really need when you have a poor (!!!) defence. Not especially surprised by Croft, Stallard and Moses though all have done a good job for the club. Wish them all the best of luck elsewhere and that they don't come back to haunt us like other ex-Imps have done!! To me the biggest surprise has been the retention (so far) of Nat Brown. I get nervous every time I see his name on the teamsheet - even on the bench! Sorry Nat but your just not up to standard. Also, if Jacko is serious about his cutting the squad to 18 I think he has enough quality youngsters to have released Owain Warlow but others may put me right on that as I haven't seen enough of him to judge properly.
