New year the traditional time for making predictions about 2008. Here are mine.

1) Croft and Moses each fail to start half of the remaining games. Croft is almost as big a waste of time as Torpey.
2) Neil McDonald leaves before the end of March.
3) We escape relegation, probably because Wrexham and Dagenham turn out to be even worse than us. I think Mansfield will survive if they hang on to Michael Boulding.
4) Alan Marriott's is not offered a new contract at the end of the season.
And then.....
5) In the summer PJ and the board differ over new signings and PJ leaves. "I've taken this club as far as I can".

Come on lads, put me straight, or better still come up with something from your own crystal ball.

seeing into the future.
january 18th: the imps will sign a forward for "-afivefigurefee-" from "-arivalleague2club-".
smith commands his area and is better than mazza, and we beat macc 2-1 away. prompting wright and jackson to re-predict a playoff spot. jackson will leaflet lincolnshire from a tractor with a new 25 point plan of how it will be achieved and urging optimism. message boards will be full of optimistic talk of how great stallard, forrester and freck are, and how many good youngsters we have. roddy, semple, watt and clarke will be brilliant for the reserves in a 6-1 defeat at hartlepool [ryan scoring in the 87th minute for lincoln]. rumours that freck is going to "-carlisle-" for £1.25m prove unfounded.
imps will then lose 4 in a row including 2 heavy defeats by "-anyoneinthetop10-".
jackson urges positive vibes, then says the imps put in their worst performance since he has been here and drops the whole back four, although moses and croft were injured anyway and beevers was suspended. games since a clean sheet = 29.
message board will be full of criticism for [1] freck [2] the slow, injury-prone, ageing nature of the squad, [3] schofield, [4] having to rely on youth, [5] smith not coming for crosses and being no better than mazza, [6] everything else.
in response, and halfway through the loan window, the imps will sign "-apromisingyoungforwardwhohasscoredloadsinthereserves-" on loan from "-alocalleagueoneclub-". smith commands his area and is better than mazza. we beat macc 2-1 at home. prompting wright and jackson to say the playoffs are still possible if we are optimistic. jackson leaflets the north of england from a lancaster with a new 500 point plan of how it will be achieved. message boards will be full of optimistic talk of how great stallard, forrester and freck are, and how many good youngsters we have. rumours that freck is going to "-swansea-" on loan with a £2m move to follow in the summer prove unfounded.
imps will then lose 6 in a row including 3 heavy defeats by "-anyoneapartfrommacc-". games since a clean sheet = 38...
on loan deadline day, torpey will be re-called from farsley 'match fit' and 'on form' having scored 2 against droylsden.
all the talk around the town leading up the all-ticket game against wrexham will be whether moses and croft will be fit, and whether hand will win the appeal against his 25th yellow card to take his place on the bench. the echo will dub it the "biggest game for 25 years" and give out huge plastic red and white japanese hari-kari swords. tickets for the coop will "-almostsellout-".
throughout all of this kerr will still be 'trying' hard in centre midfield.
