Club history
Gainsborough's Danny Wood attempts to take the ball off Barnet's Joe Devera.

Formed: 1873
Former names: Trinity Recreationists

Did you know? In 1889 they were founder members of the Midland Counties League, losing their first match 2-1 to Lincoln City. A year later they won their first ever title, the Midland League championship.

After finishing runners-up the following season they were promoted to the Football League Second Division and their first ever match was against Newton Heath, who later went on to become Manchester United. Sadly, being based in an area with a small population it was always a struggle and the club returned to the Midland League in 1912.
