Lincolnshire captain Paul Cook to serve four-week ban

Tuesday, December 22, 2009, 11:15

Lincolnshire captain Paul Cook's ban from cricket has been slashed to four weeks.

The Bracebridge Heath right-hander had been handed an 11-week suspension following an incident last season, believed to surround when a one-match ban was taken.

Cook was banned for one game following an incident during Bracebridge's ECB Premier League clash with Woodhall Spa at Cross O'Cliff Court in July.

However, following an appeal hearing last night, Cook will now sit out just four weeks of the new season.

That is set to include the first two games of Lincs' one-day campaign against Norfolk and Suffolk.
