Obviously the spotlight has been on Lincoln City Football Club this week since the announcement that our manager Peter Jackson has been diagnosed with throat cancer.Of course it is very sad news and all the players were upset when he broke it to the playing staff early last week but knowing the man I am convinced that the positive outlook he has installed into the squad will no doubt help him in fighting the illness and we all hope that he is absent for the least possible time. From his first day at the club he has regularly spoken of the belief he has in the players and we are all starting to see some of the results of this in achieving five straight victories. The league table is beginning to look a whole lot healthier recently and we all want to continue our run for as long as possible. Against Macclesfield we created lots of chances throughout the match and to score three goals for the second time in sucession is great but if we had taken all of our chances we could have won the game by a significantly bigger margin.Part of this was down to good goalkeeping and partly down to poor finishing. If we are to keep our run going then we will have to beat one of the top sides in League 2 in Rotherham United.Having lost to them at home not too long ago we feel that we are now better equipped to go there and get a result although we must beware because they are due to get back on track having had an indifferent run of results recently. This week we welcomed Iffy Onura to Sincil Bank.Having lost Neil McDonald to Leeds I am sure that Iffy will more than fill his boots and continue the good work done by him.Macca contributed greatly on the training field and in my opinion played a huge part in us climbing the table. It will also be good to have someone who has had managerial experience to guide the squad in the managers absence.
