SCRAPPY

Saturday's game against Daganham and Redbridge was never going to be a classic footballing experience for fans or players. It ended up being a pretty tight match although we are obviously delighted to have taken maximum points.Having taken the lead through a well worked set-piece via a great cross from Paul Green, we ended up having to defend frantically for spells of the second half.Credit must go to the team for keeping a clean sheet. One thing Dag and Red do is make you defend and our back four certainly stood up to everything they threw at us.Some of our defenders came in for some critisicm after the defeat against Rotherham, so some credit must go to the defenders who played so well.
Tuesday nights match I'm sure will be much the same.It is another massive game and we really want to capitalise on the Dagenham victory.Hopefully Mansfield's game against Middlesboro will have taken a lot out of them although we go into every game thinking that if we play to our potential then we can give any team a tough time.
Hopefully we will have Lee Frecklington available for the Mansfield game. With last weeks game postponed it looks like we will only have missed him for 1 match which is a bit of a bonus.

On Tuesday Peter Jackson allowed me to help Grant Brown in taking the reserve team match at Scunthorpe United.Having recieved my coaching badge I was delighted to have been given the opportunity to take the reserves and I thouroughly enjoyed it.Hopefully I will be given the chance to do it again in the future.Although we lost the game it was interesting to look at a match from a different perspective.

Thanks for reading
